Five for Friday

Here is a look at five activities we did this week!
The kids practiced filling in numbers and counting by 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s.

The kids practiced addition by using their fingers to see if the problems were correct.
If they were, they colored the carrots orange.  If they were not correct, they colored them green.

The kids read the sentences and then rewrote them the correct way.

We practiced beginning blends and then colored the egg that matched the picture.

And lastly, we measured ourselves to see how tall we were in eggs and then made a picture to match.

I'm officially off for Spring Break! :)

Some Bunny is Ready to Learn!

I can't believe Easter is in just 5 days!  To celebrate Spring, here is a look at a few of the activities we have been working on this week.

This activity practiced some of the sight words we have been working on.  Students chose a colored egg which had a scrambled word.  They had to figure out what the word was and then write it correctly and color the egg to match.   They had a word bank to help them figure out the tricky words.

For this activity, students took turns rolling a dice and then subtracting the chicks.  They had to write the number sentence to match what they rolled.

The kids completed a search and find activity to practice sight words that they should know.

The kids love activities in which they can play against each other.  They worked with a partner, taking turns rolling a dice.  Whatever number they rolled was the number of spaces they could color on their 100s chart.  The first to get their bunny to 100 is the winner!

We practiced tens and ones.  The kids cut out equations such as 10+4=14 and then glued it to the right side of the bunny's bow.

To practice 3D shapes, the kids worked with a partner, using a spinner.  Whatever shape they landed on, they had to look for on their recording sheet and then color.  The first player to color all of the eggs is the winner.

I will be adding more to this pack.

Five for Friday~ A Day Late!

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share 5 random things from my week.  I will make it short and sweet!

1.  My baby boy turned 2 this week.  He's a little spoiled...

His shirt says "Mama's Boy" if you can't tell!  :)

2. Spring has Sprung!
The weather here is BEAUTIFUL!  So glad it was warm enough to finally be able to wash my car.
I went shopping for new shoes today, but I had no luck.  Maybe next time!

3. I am loving our St. Patrick's Day activities.  On Friday, a Leprechaun trashed our room.  He pulled out everything green he could find and placed it all around our classroom.  We went on a hunt for him, and could not find him.  A couple of the kids said they saw him run by!

4. We will continue to work on St. Patrick's Day activities this upcoming week.  Here is a writing activity that I added to my St. Patrick's Day mini unit.

We will read I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover, and then the kids will complete this writing activity.

5. And last, but not least... the wedding countdown is on!  We are now down to double digits...98 more days!!!  :)

If I Had a Pot of Gold...

I am so proud of my little Kinderbees!  They are such hardworkers!  Today we did a fun activity for St. Patrick's Day.  We created rainbows with a pot of gold, and we also wrote about, "If I had a pot of gold..."

Here are some of my favorites!

Katelyn was so sweet.  She said, "I will give some to Christian and Joseph" (her brothers).

Emma said, "I would hide the gold".

Our cafeteria sales fruit roll-ups during lunch.  They are always a huge hit.
Jonathan said, "I would get a lot of fruit roll-ups".

Hannah wrote, "I would buy a dog".

Here's a look at several of them together.

I will add it to my TPT's St. Patrick's Day Pack, but it will have to wait til in the morning.  :)
Once again, my home internet does not love the website for some reason... so sad!
Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day, a Birthday, and a Freebie!

First, I will begin by saying that yesterday was the second birthday of my pride and joy!
I know, I know... he's just a little spoiled.  Here is a picture of him with a birthday bone.  It's blurry... the best I could get because he gets crazy hyper when he gets a treat!

And here is a picture of him absolutely destroying a toy my mom bought him!

Yesterday, I did a model writing lesson with the kids.  They helped me as a group to sound out, "Today is Scooter's birthday.  He is two."  After writing as a group, I turned them loose to write about anything they wanted to.  Here is a look at some of their writing.

Katelyn wrote about Scooter.  "Happy birthday.  I love Scooter!"  Don't you love her hearts and she also used an exclamation mark!

Myles wrote about Scooter also!  "Today is Scooter's birthday!  And he has a girl friend."  The kids thought it was so funny that Myles said Scooter has a girlfriend! :)

And here are two more that I thought were cute!
Emma wrote, "I love Miss Tinsley very much!"

And Ryan wrote until he ran out of room!  "Today is Luigi's birthday!  And I forgot the birthday cake and Mario got Luigi the cake.  And Mario came to Luigi's birthday."  Don't you love his drawing and that he drew a table for Luigi with a cake?!

For St. Patrick's Day I created a little mini packet.  It contains an emergent reader to practice 3D shapes and also a sheet to practice addition and subtraction.  Here is a look:

This reader practice color words, 3D shapes and addition sentences.
The very last page allows the children to match the 3D shapes.

And lastly, to say thanks for reading this whole post, here is an alphabet assessment for FREE! :)

Seriously?!

Ever have that feeling, "It could only happen to me?"  I have that feeling quite often...

I had a little school money left that had to be spent by March 1st.  So... I decided to order gluesticks, since we go through these like CrAzY!
I wanted to buy a gallon of Elmer's glue to refill glue bottles, but didn't have enough money for this.  I only had a couple dollars left to spend.  Not wanting it to go to waste, I decided to spend the last little bit to get whatever size glue I could.
The gluesticks arrive to school fine... no problem.  A couple days later I receive a little bitty tiny box... so I'm thinking no way this is my Elmer's glue, no way.  They've made some horrible mistake.  Maybe sent me a few extra glue sticks??  I open the package and this is what I find...

And, yes, just in case you are wondering the bottle on the right is a NORMAL size, while the bottle on the left is what I got.  While it is cute as a button, I ask you, "SERIOUSLY?"  Oh, well... don't you know someone got a big laugh out of me purchasing this and then them having to wrap this one single itty bitty bottle of glue.  It's almost too cute to use!

Anywho...here is a look at 2 new items in my TPT store.

The first, is a Search and Find Teen Number Pack.  This can be used to review Tricky Teens, as morning work, or even sent home as homework.  Here is a look:

Also, I created a quick and easy March Homework Sheet that list what the students are to work on each night.  It is so simple and concise and correlates to the Common Core Standards.

April Homework is soon to come!

Hope you have a great Friday!!
